The site develops the usual chat site format into a more user-friendly style by using pop-up windows for message entry, etc. allowing the main window, containing the list of messages, to update on a regular basis without interrupting the composition of a message. The design was made simple to maximise clarity and minimise download time so that the user can focus on the content, rather than the container. As a chat site, Prolix is rather light on features (lists of users, message formatting, etc.) but these will be added as the site develops. Please note: Prolix is still an experimental site and undergoes regular alterations. Therefore it may not be entirely reliable. |
